If I do this and and connect a google puck to be a router I can connect the other pucks for a wifi network at ac1200 speeds. In the past I have connected a switch to the networking port and connected hard lines needed in the house out of this, allowing for the google router to still serve out proper IP's and manage traffic flowing to these devices.
On my secondary Google wifi puck, my laptop goes from 140 wired to 40 on 5ghz WiFi (and 10b on 2.5ghz) even when the laptop is inches from the puck. It's also dependent on hardware as not all wireless cards are equal. My pixel3 gets great wifi speeds while my older work laptop struggles.
The google wifi firmware will sometimes negotiate a 100Mb speed in Ethernet if the modem isn't set to 1Gb. Change it in the modem and restart. Also: wired connectivity is better than wireless between the pucks.
